Award-winning comedian Hasan Minhaj returns to La Jolla Playhouse for six performances only.

After the global success of his Peabody Award-winning 2017 original comedy special Homecoming King, and his hit 2022 Netflix special, The King’s Jester, Hasan is back at La Jolla Playhouse for Experiment Time, a performance that features the acclaimed comedian as he showcases and prepares new material for this new one-man show.

Only six performances to see Hasan Minhaj in this intimate setting.

This is a special event. Limit 4 tickets per order. Tickets are available by Will Call only. Patrons may pick up tickets up to 3 hours before performance time. Photo ID is required for pick up. Recommended for ages 16+.


A Phone-Free Experience

At the request of the artist, this event will be a phone-free experience. Use of phones, smart watches, and accessories will not be permitted in the performance space. Upon arrival all screen devices will be secured in individual Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their phones at all times. Anyone seen using a device during the performance will be escorted out of the venue by security. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience.

Parking
Parking is FREE for La Jolla Playhouse patrons in the South Parking Structure (formerly known as Osler Parking) when a valid parking pass is displayed. Take advantage of the free shuttle to the theatre. Find all parking information here.

Onsite Dining
La Jolla Playhouse’s on-site restaurant, James’ Place, is open for dinner service at 5pm nightly (Tuesday – Sunday). Please note, James’ Place is not open prior to matinee performances. James’ Place offers full bar service and a selection of specialty sushi, Asian fusion, steak & coastal cuisine items. Reservations can be made by phone as well as OpenTable. Indoor and outdoor seating options are available.

Concessions
Concessions opens 60 minutes before showtime. Come early to relax outside and enjoy a selection of beer, wine, cocktails, sodas and individually wrapped snacks. All food must be consumed before entering the theatre while concession drinks with lids will be allowed in the theatre.

La Jolla Playhouse is the only authorized ticket seller for this production.

Hasan Minhaj is a two-time Peabody Award-Winning comedian known for his breakout special HOMECOMING KING (Netflix) and his critically-acclaimed, political satire show PATRIOT ACT WITH HASAN MINHAJ (Netflix), which won a Peabody and an Emmy. His second one-hour comedy special, THE KING'S JESTER, premiered on Netflix in October 2022. He is the co-founder and chief executive officer for 186K Films that will produce its first feature, FOR THE CULTURE, with Amazon Studios. He is co-writing the script with Prashanth Venkataramanujam and will star in the film. He is currently in production on Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures’ film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel IT ENDS WITH US opposite Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni and Jenny Slate. Hasan was a senior correspondent at THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART and headlined the 2017 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Mandell Weiss Theatre

The Mandell Weiss Theatre is a 492-seat proscenium arch theatre, with two front rows of removable seats allowing for a greater stage length. The theatre also maintains an upstairs wooden deck for parties, receptions and outdoor gatherings, and a small outdoor amphitheatre for pre-show entertainment.
