Philanthropy

Legacy and Endowment Giving Manager

Classification: This is a full-time, exempt position, eligible for a full array of benefits including health insurance and 403(b) retirement plan
Reports to: Director of Philanthropy
Compensation: $70,000 – $75,000

The Legacy and Endowment Giving Manager will manage La Jolla Playhouse’s Revelle Legacy Giving Society (Revelle Society) and steward Revelle Society members. The primary focus of the position is to implement a planned giving and endowment program that fosters relationships with donors who are interested in leaving a legacy to ensure the long-term financial success of the Playhouse. The Legacy and Endowment Giving Manager will support the Individual Giving team with gift planning, prospect research, portfolio management and analytics. This position requires a combination of fundraising expertise, relationship building skills and strategic planning skills to cultivate and steward Revelle Society members. The Legacy and Endowment Giving Manager will serve as the Playhouse’s expert in the planned giving community of wealth managers, tax advisors and estate attorneys.

Production

Technical Director

Classification: Full-time, exempt (salary) position
Reports to: Production Managers
Compensation: $130,000-$150,000/yr

The Technical Director has the primary responsibility of managing the Scenery and Paints departments and overseeing the execution of the scenic design from design development through completion. Working closely with the Scenery Supervisor, they lead the technical construction, installation, maintenance and transfer of scenery (built, purchased, rented, or otherwise) and oversee rigging for all productions produced and presented by La Jolla Playhouse including festivals and special events while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Scenic Artist

Classification: Full Time, IATSE Local 122, Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports to: Charge Artist
Compensation: $28.55 per hour

Under the direction of the Scenery Supervisors and the Charge Artist, the Scenic Artist serves as a key member of La Jolla Playhouse’s Production Department. The position is expected to function independently in a fast-paced and detail-critical environment, implementing scenic and painting treatments for productions produced and presented by La Jolla Playhouse to which they are assigned while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. The strongest candidate is an artist committed to the artistic vision and mission of La Jolla Playhouse.

WOW Festival Production & Operations Manager

Classification: Full-time, seasonal, exempt (salaried) position
Reports to: Senior Production Manager
Compensation: $1,280/week

The WOW Production & Operations Manager is primarily responsible for the production and operational planning and management of LJP’s annual Without Walls Festival. This position ensures that WOW productions open on time and on budget and are safely enjoyed by the audience. The position is seasonally full time and exempt. The typical schedule for this position will be regular weekday hours during planning then transitioning to nights and weekends with extended hours during load in, festival, and load out. This position will work both remotely and in person at the offices at LJP during planning with site visits to festival location, and work at festival location for load in through load out.
