Marketing & Communications

Patron Services Representative

Classification: This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position (25-29 hours per week), eligible for limited benefits including paid sick leave and complimentary tickets to Playhouse performances
Reports to: Associate Director of Ticketing Services
Compensation: $17.25 – $18.50 per hour (DOE)

The Patron Services Representative represents La Jolla Playhouse to patrons – over the telephone, via email, and in-person – selling single tickets and subscriptions while providing quality customer service.

Philanthropy

Grants Specialist

Classification: This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, eligible for a full array of benefits including health and life insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, paid time off (vacation, sick, holiday), and complimentary tickets to Playhouse performances
Reports to: Deputy Director of Philanthropy (co-reports to Corporate Relations Manager)
Compensation: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour (DOE)

As a member of the Philanthropy team, the Grants Specialist will play a vital role assisting and supporting the Institutional Giving team in managing and enhancing corporate, foundation and government gifts to the Playhouse. Responsibilities will include tracking and assigning grant deadlines and materials; preparing and gathering grant materials; researching and tracking prospects; proofreading, editing, and writing grants; and project managing, compiling, editing, and writing Impact Reports.

Production

Metal Fabricator / Welder

Classification: Full Time, IATSE Hourly (non-exempt)
Reports to: Shop Foreman
Compensation: Rate 2, IATSE Local 122 – $27.75

The Metal Fabricator prepares, welds, and fabricates metal structures and components for scenic elements produced or presented by La Jolla Playhouse. This position functions both independently and as part of a team, working with other carpenters, as well as collaborating with other production departments to successfully implement all LJP Productions. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a variety of materials and fabrication techniques and will be an effective communicator ensuring that projects are completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Lead Prop Runner

Classification: Full Time Seasonal, IATSE Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Props Supervisor
Compensation: Department Head Rate, IATSE Local 122 – Currently $31.65 per hour

Under the direction of the Prop Supervisor and Production Manager, the Lead Prop Runner serves as a key member of La Jolla Playhouse’s Production Staff. The Lead Prop Runner works in a fast-paced and detail-critical environment, participating in and facilitating prop activities onstage including load in, tech, the run of a show, and strike & transfer.
