New Parking Open from Tues, Sep 24

We’re excited to announce that the new Theatre District Parking Structure at 9135 S Scholars Dr, La Jolla, CA 92093 (Google Map to this entrance) – part of UC San Diego’s Theatre District Living and Learning Neighborhood (TDLLN) – is complete and ready to welcome Playhouse patrons for the start of our next production, Primary Trust. As of the first performance on Tuesday, September 24, ticketholders can enjoy underground parking directly across from our theatres.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SOUTH PARKING STRUCTURE AND SHUTTLES: After Sunday, September 15, parking for the Playhouse will no longer be at the South Parking Structure. Should theatregoers end up at South Parking during the run of Primary Trust, Playhouse staff located at the 3rd floor Gilman Drive entrance will redirect them to the new Theatre District Parking Structure. Shuttles to and from the Playhouse will NO LONGER operate after Velour: A Drag Spectacular closes on Sunday, September 15.

Parking is currently free for Primary Trust ticketholders in the new Theatre District Parking Structure when a valid UCSD parking pass is displayed. Enter the Theatre District Parking Structure at 9135 S Scholars Drive, La Jolla, CA 92093. (Google Map to this entrance.)

• A parking attendant at the entrance will give you a free parking pass for your dashboard.
• After getting your parking pass, turn right and follow signs to park. You can park in any non-reserved space.
• Useful tip #1: For quickest access to the elevator and stairs closest to the Playhouse campus, we recommend parking in the SOUTH section. Pillars are labeled with NORTH or SOUTH to indicate location.
• Useful tip #2: The elevator and stairs to ground level will be closest to areas 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G of the parking structure. At 2G, 3G and 4G, there will be a door located near a payment kiosk and sign indicating “UC San Diego Elevator Access.” Enter to access the elevator.
• Press *1 for ground level. Once you exit the elevator, veer slightly to your right and follow the signage to the Playhouse, located directly across the street.
• The walking distance from parking to the Playhouse is 0.1-0.2 miles on level ground (except for a flight of stairs from P1 to ground level, should you choose not to take the elevator). The walk takes 1-2 minutes.

Saturday: 12:00 – 2:15pm (mat); 5:00 – 8:15pm (eve)
Sunday: 11:00am – 1:15pm (mat); 5:00 – 7:15pm (eve)

Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is free with a Disabled Person (DP) placard or license plates in the Theatre District Parking Structure. (Google Map to this entrance.)

Please see detailed parking info above. Designated disabled parking can be found on level one (area 1A), on the right as you enter the parking structure. Then proceed to elevator P1 and take it to level 1 for level access to the Playhouse.

Drop-Off Location for Access, Uber, Lyft, Taxi
There is an accessible drop-off location at the front of the Playhouse campus on Theatre District Drive. This is where ride-share services can drop off guests. Google Map for this drop-off location. 

Golf Cart Service
Patrons with access needs can pre-request golf cart service from the drop-off location to the theatre doors. Request golf cart service in advance by calling (858) 550-1010, or connect with a greeter when you arrive if you would like this service. Services are available beginning at 5:15pm for evening performances and 12:15pm Saturday matinee and 11:15am Sunday matinee performances.

Safety
Patrons and staff are welcome to use UCSD Community Service Officers (CSOs) for a safety escort to their cars by calling (858) 534-WALK (9255). If you have questions about security you can contact UCSD Police at (858) 534-HELP (4357).

CSOs offer this service from sunset to 1am every day of the year. After 1am, this service may be handled by other police department personnel.
