Instructions for Login and Viewing

How do I watch the Digital Performance of The Garden?

  1. CLICK HERE to log in to your La Jolla Playhouse account using your email address and password. The email address should be the one at which you received this email.
  2. Never logged in? CLICK HERE and click on “Forgot Password.” When prompted, type in your email address and click “Submit.” The email address should be the one at which you received this email. An email with be sent to you from [email protected] Follow the link in that email to reset your password.
  3. Log in to your account to see the “My Digital Performances” page, which will show the digital performance for The Garden. When ready to watch click on “View Content.” If you do not see the digital performance option for The Garden, please call Patron Services at (858) 550-1010, open Tuesday – Saturday,12:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

You may view The Garden until Sunday, October 31 at 11:59 pm.


FAQ

Forget your login?

Once you are on the login page, click the “Forgot Password” link, enter your information, and await the password reset email. If you are still experiencing difficulties, you may reach out to Patron Services.

Is there a specific show time?

You can watch each performance at any time during the two-week window the Digital Performance is available to stream. The Garden is available October 18 – October 31.

Will I be able to pause or restart the performance?

Yes, you are welcome to pause, restart, forward or rewind the performance as needed. Please note the video will reset if you close your browser window. If you are intending to come back to the video at a later time, please take note of the time stamp of where you left off before closing the window.

What browsers do you recommend?
(we will need to test this prior to recommendations, unless there is a standard recommendation for Vimeo?)
The recommended browsers for viewing are Chrome 30+, Firefox 27+, Microsoft Edge, or Safari 9+. Internet Explorer will not work well with the video stream.

How do I control the volume?

In addition to the regular sound capabilities of your chosen viewing device, there is a volume control button inside the video stream of the play, located in the lower right corner of the video frame.

Can I control the video quality?

Yes, there is a video resolution quality located in the lower right corner of the video frame. It usually defaults to “auto” to adjust to your bandwidth automatically, but you may opt to control this manually if you prefer. If the video is continually starting and stopping, you may want to try reducing video quality.

Can I make the video full screen?

Yes, there is an option to view the video in full screen mode. That option is located in the lower right corner of the video frame. To exit full screen mode at any time, you can press the “Esc” button to return to the main viewing page.

Can I watch these plays on my television?

Please see options below.

Casting from Chrome
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More (vertical three dots) and then Cast.
  3. Choose the Chromecast device where you want to watch the content.
  4. If you’re already using the Chromecast, your content will replace what’s on your TV.
  5. When you’re done, to the right of the address bar, click Cast and then Stop casting.

AirPlay from Safari
  1. In the Safari app on your Mac, navigate to the tab with the video you want to play.
    • Compatible web videos have an AirPlay icon.
  2. On the show page, click the AirPlay icon (located on the bottom right of the video section), then choose your Apple TV.

Casting from your Android Device
  1. Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Tap the device you want to cast your screen to.
  4. Tap Cast my screen and then Cast screen.
  5. To stop casting, open the Google Home app, tap your device, and then tap stop mirroring.

*In most cases, you will need a smart TV, Chromecast Dongle, or a TV with Chromecast in addition to your Android device. Once you have the necessary equipment set-up, you can follow the steps below to cast the show from your Android device to your TV.

AirPlay from your IOS Device
  1. Connect your iOS device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV.
  2. Find the video that you want to AirPlay.
  3. Tap the Airplay icon.
  4. Choose your Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV.
  5. To stop streaming, tap in the app that you’re streaming from, then tap your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from the list.

*Some video apps on iOS might not support AirPlay. If you can’t use AirPlay with a video app, check the App Store for tvOS to see if that app is available on Apple TV.

Streaming via Firestick
  1. Check if your Fire TV can screen mirror. To check, hold down the Home button on the Fire TV remote. If you see a Mirroring icon, your device is compatible.
  2. Connect your Android and Fire TV devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Move your Android and Fire TV devices within 30 ft (10 m) of each other.
