We’re excited to have you here at La Jolla Playhouse for your matinee performance of the world-premiere production, The Ballad of Johnny and June, on Tuesday, July 2, 2:00 PM at the Weiss Theatre.

Below is important information for your visit, especially regarding parking and shuttles, as it is a change from our standard info for performances.

Reminder: Don’t forget your UC San Diego Student ID if you purchased Triton tickets, your ID if you purchased 30 & Under tickets and Military ID if you purchased Blue Star tickets. They are required for ticket pickup at Will Call.

Getting to the Playhouse

FREE PARKING AT UCSD LOT P386, NEAR TORREY PINES GLIDERPORT

To help ensure a smooth experience, we encourage you to ride share to this performance.

For those that need to drive, alternate arrangements have been made to provide free parking for this performance. UC San Diego will be in session, so the regular South Parking structure will be full. Free parking will be provided at UCSD Lot P386 near the Torrey Pines Gliderport, with shuttles transporting patrons to and from the theatre. If you are driving, please follow the directions below.

Parking Location for Matinee Patrons on Tues., July 2: The free parking location is UCSD Lot P386, which is an unpaved lot located on Torrey Pines Scenic Dr., La Jolla CA 92037. This lot is 0.4 miles from the Gliderport. Please also reference the map image below.

  • The easiest and quickest way to get directions is to click on the following link, which will take you straight to UCSD Lot P386. GOOGLE MAP TO THIS PARKING LOT.
  • A parking attendant will be at stationed at the entrance to P386 directing patrons and handing out permits.
  • An accessible complimentary shuttle bus (pick-up/drop-off noted on the image below) will take patrons to and from the parking lot pre- and post-show. It is a comfortable ride of approximately 8-10 minutes (distance: approximately 2 miles).
  • Shuttles will be running starting at 12 Noon on Tues., July 2 for matinee patrons and will arrive every 10-15 minutes. We recommend allowing 30-60 min prior to your performance time for parking and the shuttle.
  • Following the end of the show, please return to the location in front of the theatre district where shuttles dropped you off so that you can be transported back to the parking lot near the Gliderport.

Directions from South Parking to P386:

  • From the South Parking Structure exit on Gilman Dr. take a left onto Gilman Dr. and use the right lane to take the ramp to La Jolla Village Dr.
  • Continue on La Jolla Village Dr. (which turns into N. Torrey Pines Rd) for approximately 2 mi
  • Take a left on Torrey Pines Scenic Dr.
  • Turn right at the 2nd UCSD parking lot entrance and continue straight down that path. The entrance to Lot P386 will be to your left, see map above.

Directions from the Playhouse to P386:

  • From Revelle College Dr (the street in front of the Theatre District) take a right onto N. Torrey Pines Rd.
  • Continue on N. Torrey Pines Rd. for approximately 2 mi
  • Take a left on Torrey Pines Scenic Dr.
  • Turn right at the 2nd UCSD parking lot entrance and continue straight down that path. The entrance to Lot P386 will be to your left, see map above.

Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is free with a Disabled Person (DP) placard or license plates in UCSD Lot P386 near the Torrey Pines Gliderport. Google map to this lot. The parking attendant can provide directions as needed to the most accessible location.

Drop-Off Location for Access, Uber, Lyft, Taxi
There is an accessible drop off location at the front of the Theatre District on Revelle College Drive. This is where ride-share services can drop off guests. Google map for this drop-off location.

Golf Cart Service
Patrons with access needs can pre-request golf cart service from the drop-off location to the theatre doors. Request golf cart service by calling (858) 550-1010.

Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.

Content Advisory
This production includes themes of drug and alcohol abuse, a rifle seen on stage but not fired, and some strong language. We understand sensitivities vary from person to person. Latecomers

Out of respect for the cast, for safety and to ensure minimum disruption to fellow theatregoers, latecomers may be seated at the discretion of the House Manager in another seat and may need to wait until an appropriate break or intermission.

Dining and Concessions

Concessions
Concessions opens 60 min before showtime, serving drinks and snacks. All food must be consumed before entering the theatre while concession drinks with lids will be allowed in the theatre.

Health and Safety

La Jolla Playhouse will no longer require patrons to wear masks indoors while attending our theatres. However, we recommend indoor masking. If you forget yours, there are masks available at the theatre.
