THE OUTSIDERS HONORED AT THE TONY AWARDS

We are over-the-moon with joy and pride to share the news that Playhouse-launched musical The Outsiders, a hit show during our 2022/23 Season, was honored at last night’s Tony’s ceremony with four Tony Awards:

We are thrilled for this exceptional cast and creative team and couldn’t be happier to have been the first home from which The Outsiders began its incredible journey.

Before this musical moved to Broadway and landed on the national stage that is the Tony Awards, it was experienced (in many cases, more than once), cheered for and loved first by La Jolla Playhouse audiences. It is because of your support of new work – and the talent, passion, collaboration, vision and dedication behind that new work – that productions like this are born, take shape and grow.

We couldn’t make theatre without you, without your presence as audience members – your enthusiasm, perspective, feedback and thoughtfulness about the stories that come to life in front of you. You made – and continue to make – theatre happen. Thank you!
