Do Ho Suh: Fallen Star

Do Ho Suh: Fallen Star
Do Ho Suh: Fallen Star

Explore notions of home with a Stuart Collection art installation that looks like a small cottage has been picked up, as if by some mysterious force, and “landed” atop Jacobs Hall. The remarkable Fallen Star by Korean artist Do Ho Suh sits crookedly on a corner of the building, cantilevered out over the ground seven stories below, and features a lush garden and panoramic views of the UC San Diego campus and beyond. Inside, its incongruent angles cause a sense of dislocation—some would say vertigo—and prompt ideas about cultural displacement and one’s perception of space while the visitor physically and mentally accommodates a new perspective of the world.

This show is in high demand! If maximum capacity has been reached, you will see “tickets are not currently available” when you click to RSVP. Some spaces may be released later, so we encourage you to check back here, and follow us on Instagram where we post updates on our Stories.
