ODDISEA - WOW Festival 2025

Embrace your mermalien roots as you join the ODDISEA: an interactive giant puppet procession unlike any other! Inspired by the sea and an alien cosmology of light, ODDISEA calls us to gather, to celebrate life and to reclaim connection – with the stars above, the ocean below and the ancestors who offer a bridge between them. Audiences of all ages are invited to dance along to the rhythms of the Chunky Hustle Brass Band and become part of this larger-than-life spectacle.

Artist

Animal Cracker Conspiracy with Chunky Hustle Brass Band

San Diego-based artists Iain Gunn and Bridget Rountree are Animal Cracker Conspiracy (ACC), a hybrid puppet company exploring the unseen and pushing kinetic performance boundaries. Since 2004, they have created work that decenters expectations, sparks new ideas and invokes the uncanny. Blending fine art, puppetry, performance art, physical theater, film and mixed media, their practice bridges the material and immaterial, folk and contemporary, intellectual and intuitive. ACC has performed at La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego Symphony and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center with support from the Jim Henson Foundation, Prebys Foundation and Puppet Slam Network among others.
