The Rosin Box Project
San Diego

A new choreographic collaboration between Carly Topazio, Jeremy Zapanta, and projectionist and designer Nathan Scheuer.

This is [our] dream. Somnium explores alternative dream state ‘realities’ and the interplay of identity, phenomenon, and surreal environment through a series of vignettes. Uniquely fantastical, yet distinctly familiar, Somnium begs the question: Are we simply subjected to the world we find ourselves in, or can we become the driving force, taking control?

An innovative new ballet that fuses imagination with technology, coupling originally choreographed dance with projection mapping design and music to create a fully-immersive, multi-sensory experience.

The original choreography is crafted to directly exemplify and blend with the motion graphic design of the projection mapping, resulting in a performance that suspends reality; creating a 3D environment in which body and environment ultimately become one.
