WOW Festival 2023 is fully free to attend, but reservations are recommended. For limited capacity projects, reservations are required. Limited capacity projects include: 360, The Cell Plays, DRIVE, THE END, Fair Trade and Workshops.
To reserve a ticket, select a specific WOW project and click on Book Now for the performance time of your choice. Or visit the Schedule page, where you can browse a full day’s schedule, displaying the various projects taking place that day, and select Book Now for the performances of your choosing.
Please note, all ticket reservations are processed by La Jolla Playhouse except for the following. Reservations for Sunset Yoga, hosted by Fit Athletic, will redirect you to Eventbrite where you can complete your ticket reservation. Tickets for La Lucha, a Without Walls Event that is not part of the festival lineup, are available for purchase through Fever, this event’s official ticketing partner.
There are no physical tickets for WOW Festival. You will receive a confirmation email for the projects that you book, please make sure to keep that email for your records. There will be check-in tables for limited capacity projects, your email will serve as a ticket proof.

Most WOW projects take place within and around The Rady Shell, however, there are specific projects that will take audiences elsewhere, please see details below.
The Cell Plays | The Jail Museum
Audiences meet outside The Headquarters at Seaport Village (see letter I on the WOW Festival map), a 20-min walk from the main festival grounds. Please take travel time into consideration when scheduling performances both prior to and after this play.
THE END | Bus Stop
This event takes place on a school bus that will board at the Bus Stop (see letter F on the WOW Festival map). This event leaves the festival site and returns at the end of the performance. Mid-show elective departures require audience members to supply their own transportation back to the start location.
To fully enjoy WOW Festival 2023 and the variety of unique art experiences we recommend that attendees bring a smartphone, headphones, and a portable charger for your electronic devices. You are welcome to bring chairs and blankets, but with action happening all over the park, be prepared to shift their location throughout the day.
Because the WOW Festival is almost entirely outdoors, we recommend you bring a hat, sunscreen, a warm layer for after sunset and water.

CLEANING THE STABLES
Timed Start – Guided tours will start every hour at the half hour (11:30, 12:30, etc.) through the festival. Headphones are provided but participants will need a smartphone. No registration required.
Ambient Transmissions – Audiences can tune-in with their own headphones and smartphones at any time over the weekend to hear HeraKlean radio. Access available onsite.
Fair Trade
Participants must bring 3 items they own to trade with a stranger. Please note, items made of glass are not allowed at The Rady Shell.
GLACIAL INCANTATIONS
Participants will require a smartphone and headphones.
Las Cuatro Milpas
Participants should bring a smartphone and headphones.
A Shared Space
Participants should bring a smartphone to enhance their experience.
The following items are prohibited inside The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park:
- Animals/Pets (except ADA-Recognized Service Animals)
- Bags larger than 16” x 16” x 8”
- Bicycles (may be parked at approved bike parking areas near gates)
- Drones, Remote Controlled Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or other motorized vehicles/devices
- Firearms of any kind (including air-rifles)
- Fireworks or other Incendiary Devices
- Glass Containers of any type
- Knives of any type
- Laser Pointers
- Noise-Making Devices
- Cameras or Electronic Recording Devices with Lenses Larger than 6 inches
- Skateboards, Scooters, Razors, “Hoverboards”
- Smokeless/Chewing Tobacco & Vaporizers (“Vapes”)
- Umbrellas (In case of inclement weather, rain ponchos are allowed.)
- Weapons of any other type (Tasers, Nunchaku, Pepper Spray, Mace, Expandable Batons, etc.)

Comfortable shoes are highly recommended to enjoy a full day of WOW. Due to the proximity to the water, festival-goers may prefer to bring a blanket and wear layers for the cool evenings.
Some WOW Festival projects will have limited seating available. For projects with required reservation and a limited capacity, attendees should plan to arrive on time to ensure their seat; seats will not be held for latecomers.
If you are not able to stand for long periods of time, we recommend that you bring a folding lawn chair or picnic blanket for projects where you may enjoy sitting, but for which no chairs are provided.
