La Jolla Playhouse offers a series of fun, interactive theatre training programs throughout the summer through its Young Performers or [email protected] programs, including Young Performers’ Workshop (YPW) for grades 3 – 12; Young Performers’ Academy (YPA) for grades 5 – 12; and Young Performers’ Conservatory (YPC) for grades 10 – 12. Additionally, the Playhouse Tech Theatre class for grades 7 – 12 introduces young people to the technical aspects of theatre.
A four-week workshop for students grades 3 – 12. Teaching Artists inspire young actors to reach for the stars and build theatre skills.
A two-week intensive for students in grades 5 – 12. A perfect experience for the student who is eager to take their YPW experience to the next level.
Each summer, the Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse offers an intensive five-week acting experience for high school students grades 10 – 12. This program is designed for the serious performer who wants to develop the skills for a career in the professional theatre.
A special week-long class which introduces young people in grades 7 – 12 to the exciting work that goes on behind the scenes to make a production happen.
Working with the San Diego Chapter of Girl Scouts of the USA, the Playhouse conducts a three-week program which teaches theatre skills and techniques that inspire young women to discover their own voices and embrace opportunities to become empowered leaders.
